3 easy self care tips!! ||

Staying in great shape and pampering yourself sounds great, doesn’t it? Who would resent having glowing skin, shiny hair and a healthy body? But taking care of your health, skin, hair all at once is not easy. Even if you work out a routine, it becomes really taxing to keep following it, especially if you are a low-maintenance person like me since for people like us, following a self care routine leaves little room for other activities.



That doesn’t mean we should ignore ourselves, does it? It is vital to take care of yourself not just to look good, but to ensure that you remain healthy later in life too.

Self care is hard. But it is also important.

So here are three easy and quick tips for low-maintenance people to keep their weight in check, ensure that their skin always glows, and they have shiny hair.

Weight loss



Now this ‘tip’ is not a replacement for physical activity. If you want to stay healthy and avoid a gazillion health problems in life, you need to stay physically active!! (Note to self)

What this simple drink does is increase your metabolism and makes you lose weight without any long-term repercussions on your health.


What you need:

Green tea


Lemon juice

Apple cider vinegar 

In half a glass of warm water,soak a tea bag of green tea for 3 minutes, add two teaspoons  of Apple cider,squeeze one lemon and add ¼ teaspoon of honey. Stir a bit to make sure the honey is mixed properly and drink first thing in the morning.

Time taken: 5 minutes

It’s easy to make and extremely effective. Give it one month max and you’ll see the results. Since it is not harmful at any level, you can make it part of your routine. No matter how low-maintenance you are, an easy, quick drink like this cannot be a hassle.

Though you might not like the sour test of Apple cider, once you get used to it, it’s actually quite refreshing.

Glowing skin

First of all, drink water. Keeping yourself hydrated is extremely important and guess what? Even low-maintenance people can do it! 😉

Second, try this totka every night.

What you need:




Take two tablespoons of milk and one tablespoon of rosewater in a bowl. Apply on your face and neck with a cotton bud. Let it dry. Once your face becomes taut, wash it off with water ONLY.

Time taken: 5 minutes

This works for all skin types so you don’t have to worry about whether it will suit you or not. If you happen to have acne then you have all the more reason to use it! Milk and rose water reduce inflammation, so while I can’t guarantee that your pimples will vanish like Cinderella’s coach at midnight (although there is nothing wrong in hoping), I can guarantee that your zits will hurt less. Rose water also removes redness from pimples or cuts.

This mask will also help you fight sunburn.

I do it right before bed. You can do it whenever you have 5 minutes to spare.

Healthy hair

Sometimes even the perfect shampoo can’t answer all our hair problems. I’m sure you are nodding right now. Changing weather takes away our natural hair shine and causes all sorts of problems like dandruff.

Now I’m sure there are a lot of ways to ensure that our hair stays healthy. But low-maintenance people like me cannot be caught up in long routines. So what do poor souls like us do?


What you need:

Tea tree oil!

Add 2 or 3 drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo each time you wash your hair. It makes your hair shiny, helps you fight dandruff and can also eliminate lice. Awesome, no?

Time taken: depends on how long you take to shampoo your hair

Tea tree oil has very strong anti-bacterial and medicinal properties so please DO NOT overuse it. 2-3 drops mean 2-3 drops. If you use too much of it, it might end up damaging your hair.

Since it has strong medicinal properties, you can also use it to fight pimples. I didn’t say acne because I am not sure about whether it can heal or not. But if you get occasional pimples, take a drop of tea tree oil and dab on and around the annoying little bugger. It might not disappear overnight but it doesn’t take long either.

These are great tips and I’m definitely going to try the metabolism drink. I am trying to drink more water and I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin.
